After searching out many domain registrars, I have come to the conclusion that Namecheap is the best choice for me, and I have chosen to do my entire domain purchasing through them.
My reasons behind choosing Namecheap really came down to five specific things that I want to bring to your attention here. Those 5 thing are:
1. The Price
2. Free Privacy 'WhoIs' Guard on all Domains
3. Simpler User Interface
4. No GoDaddy Annoying Up-sells
5. Better Customer Service Response
The first reason is the price. Buying a domain name at GoDaddy.com will cost almost $11 per year. At Namecheap.com you will pay 30 cents less ($10.69/year) in order to get that same domain name. Other than some small special discount from GoDaddy, you will usually spend about $11 per year for each of your .com purchases. If you choose to buy your domain name at Namecheap.com, you can use the coupon code from the official coupon site at: www.namecheapcoupons.com Every month Namecheap provides another coupon that discounts one year registrations of:.com/.net/.org/.biz, and domain transfers of: .com/.net/.org/.info/.biz domains This will save you additional 10% for the first year of using that domain name (total: $$10.69) So, the total saving of buying a domain name at Namecheap.com will be $1.38.
The second reason for using Namecheap is the free privacy 'WhoIs' guard on all domains for the first year. This service had the biggest influence on me choosing Namecheap over GoDaddy. With GoDaddy you are spending additional money per year to have a 'WhoIs' privacy per domain. As you can see by now, that's more than the cost of another domain! Namecheap's 'WhoIs' Guard is free for the first year and is thereafter! Total saving for this kind of service is another good chunk of money if you choose to use Namecheap. If you choose to go with Namecheap because you are planning on purchasing additional domains, these savings can make a huge difference for your domain name's budget.
The third reason is the simpler user interface of Namecheap Navigating your way through your GoDaddy account could be a nightmare. It's slow, and it takes to many clicks to get to things you need. And, it's way too busy with advertisements and upsells. In contrast, Namecheap has a very simple interface: Search Domains - Buy Domains - Manage Domains. It really all comes down to those 3 steps in the Namecheap interface which makes it super easy and efficient to use.
The fourth reason are no GoDaddy annoying up-sells This is probably the most frustrating aspect of being a GoDaddy customer. Whenever you try to purchase a domain you are immediately flooded with up-sells. 'Buy this domain!', 'Get this hosting package with your domain', etc. As you can see on this image, a business class email is one of the most ridiculous up-sells that you can find if you are purchasing a domain name at Godaddy.
The fifth reason of using namecheap over Godaddy is better customer service response When you need help with something specific within your account it takes forever to get help from someone at GoDaddy.
In my experience, the Namecheap team has been super helpful. This is probably due to the fact that GoDaddy is a giant behemoth and Namecheap is a little smaller and can thus pay more attention to its customers.
NameCheap is the BEST out there!!
